Merry Christmas

It's that time of year and I want to wish all the ratties out there a wonderful Christmas. This holiday season, I will remember all the rats left in shelters, homeless and abandoned. My greatest wish for all ratkind is a good warm home with loving humans for each one of us. In the end, that's all we truly want.

So please give your ratties an extra cuddle, some extra time for us to climb on you, to cuddle in your shirt, to give you more kisses and gaze into your eyes. Cause we love our humans. We love our life with you.

Thank you to all the great ratmoms and ratdads out there. :)

Toilet paper for rats?

Ma thought it would be fun to add a toilet paper roll in our cage. I was a bit confused at first. We certainly don't need such things, that's why god gave us tongues. But then we realized it would make great bedding, especially since we leave our poops all over the place anyways.
So we looked at it for a while wondering what we should be doing with it. Cande decided to just stand on it. It brought her closer to the top bars. She's always chewing on bars. She thinks one day she will break through. Rylee decided to go into the roll. But that wasn't very smart because he kinda got stuck. We all laughed pretty good at him. But ya, then we found that if you unroll it, you can do all kinds of things with it, like build houses, hide your food so you can pretend you don't have anymore, put it in the water bowl and make the water disappear and best of all, makes for a nice blanket to cover you.
Thanks Ma!

Poop fun!

Every thing has been going good on the home front. Ma has put up all these weird white guards though all around the cage. She says it's for keeping the poop in instead of us bulldozing the poops out. I admit we aren't the cleanest bunch and really couldn't be bothered using the litter pan, although, I do use it on occasion but why should we have to deal with poops. Doesn't Ma know we throw them out of the cage for a reason. She tells me we will have to be cleaner, something about Christmas and company?

So apparently, Jorge is not the problem. You see, there's been some talk. No one's really saying anything but I hear them just the same. They don't realize that I'm the lump hidden under that fleece liner. *snicker*
The rumour has it that Captain is the freak. He's got his signals all wired wrong. He wants to play with us but doesn't want us to play with him. How do you figure that one out? He does like Nessie alright. I've seen him get excited with her. I'll have a talk with Ma, tell her that Jorge should keep his jiggles and maybe have Captain lose his. We can't deal with his neurotics.
He's s sweet boy though... but he's got to get over this craziness.

Oh today we had bok choy, what a treat!! we gobbled it down so fast, I hardly had time to snatch it from the other guys' mouths. *grin*
